Northern Virginia Dobe Rescue Receives New Identity from Marketing Strategist Mayra Ruiz-McPherson

[ April 10, 2008 ] Charles Town, West Virginia — Marketing professional Mayra Ruiz-McPherson donates creative services and marketing expertise to Northern Virginia’s Blue Ridge Doberman Rescue, a non-profit organization rescuing Dobermans and finding local dobes their forever homes.

The non-profit realized they needed a new, more sophisticated identity to reflect a series of changes in their organization. Like many non-profits, cash flow for marketing efforts is always limited if at all available. Ms. Ruiz-McPherson, however, was introduced to the group by way of a client’s participation and soon after learning of the organization’s needs, she agreed to donate her time and talent to their cause.

“We are so appreciative of Mayra’s kind and generous creative donation to our organization,” says Patricia Duffy, Blue Ridge’s founder. “We will proudly display our new look on everything and anything that helps to promote our cause. We will also use our new identity on many different advertising specialties, such as T-shirts and calendars, to help generate funds from the sale of such items.”

“Helping underdog causes, no pun intended, is something I enjoy doing,” says Ruiz-McPherson. “As a small business owner and independent marketing contractor, I am often an underdog myself so I identify with small, good causes like these that often live under the radar. ” Moreover, Ruiz-McPherson adds, “When a community organization doing good things has a genuine need for marketing assistance and when the smallest of marketing gestures can make a huge difference, I’m usually all over it.”
