Just some food for thought here but all good things come to “an end” at some point. Not that MySpace is at its end but it did lose most of its glory to Facebook. And some day, while hard to believe, Facebook will lose its glory to __________________ (you fill in the blank).
This is a fact of social networking life. One minute an app or social utility is up. The next, it’s not … or at least, it’s not #1 as it once may have once been.
I’m a huge fan of Facebook. I think it’s an incredibly rich and robust social utility. But I realize that at some point, *The Next Big Thing* will come and then what? The same goes for Twitter. We as social network users need to be aware that as I type these very words, a handful of *The Next Big Things* are forthcoming in the social networking horizon.
At the end of the day, we may become attached to a specific social utility’s GUI or features but the primary goal is always engagement and communication. No matter what “tool of the day” has stolen our hearts today, it is the VERBS (actions) we must keep focused on and not the NOUNS (tools).
In summary, the Facebook and Twitter era is far from over. Actually, it’s quite intact, thank goodness … but I just wanna keep it real. What are your thoughts?

MayraAs alwasy great points! I think Facebook has some challenges with moving in a direction to find apps that can generate revenue and in the process are really messing things up for all users. Also I am very disappointed that Facebook is looking at charging users. This will kill it quickly and maybe that will make room for another "next big thing"
