Despite the name of this mixer, no … it was *not* held in Northern Virginia
Spent a few hours here with this group earlier tonight. Good crowd. Great location!
Supernova is a community bringing together business, government, and technology thought leaders to understand how decentralization and pervasive connectivity are changing our world today. There’s an upcoming conference in San Fransisco, California coming up on December 1-3, 2009 which will explore the transformation of computing, communications, business, and society in the Network Age.
Well this was a small yet lively, extremely chatty and happy crowd. Most everyone who showed up for the Supernova mixer was eager to get networking with other fellow Supernova’ers. Gary Honig, aka @mosesHawk, had a major moment in his life when he got a chance to personally meet special guest Joi Ito!
I briefly, and I mean briefly, got to see DCWW’s Jen Consalvo (@noreaster) there with AOL’s Frank Gruber. Jimmy Gardner seemed to be having a good time as well. Overall it was a good crowd with a lot to say to each other … clearly the group’s chit chatter was so loud, I could often not hear folks as they gave me their names
Want to thank event organizers Howard Greenstein and Kevin Werbach for being gallant and gracious. I hope I was a good event helper, guys
