the better social business blog

I love to write.

Let that fact be known by all who read this post. Since forever, I have put pen to paper (or fingertips to keyboard) and spewed out countless collections of verbs, adjectives and nouns to create sentences and piles of paragraphs to express thoughts, share information and to be as creative as my wordsmithing for business or pleasure will allow me to be.

My head is constantly swimming in thoughts, ideas and stuff to write about and share with you and others … especially in the arena of digital marketing and social media. Yet I find it frustrating that often, despite my ability and desire to write or blog or share, the time factor is … well, a factor.

It’s the classic Cinderella complex: Cinderella spent so much time cleaning the house and helping her step sisters with their dresses for the royal ball that when it came time for her to get all dolled up for the ball herself, it was just too late. Stepping out of fairy tale world and into my every day life as marketing or social media [insert your term for me here] helping clients day in and day out with their marketing, their content, their blogging, their article writing, their branding and their positioning, I fear that I, too, run out of time. Often, I have very little time left for me to hang out here with you as much as I’d like and for me to share my endless oodles of content here as I know I should.

Well, hmm … I may need to revamp the Cinderella analogy just a bit … because if you recall, at least from the Disney version of the tale, Cinderella’s little friends — the mice — were there to save the day and had a cute dress for “Cinderelli” to wear at the last minute. And even when the step sisters shredded the mice-made dress into hundreds of pieces, Cinderella got the fairy godmother hook up.

Alas, in case you missed the press release, I’ve got no mice here at all who can blog on my behalf and/or generate content for me. And surely, I got *no* fairy godmother either. Damn!!! :) If only, right???

Honestly, I wish I could post here with more frequency and trust me, I long to be here all the time, swimming in “new post” mode every day. The reality, however, is that when the blog is quiet and you don’t hear from me as often, what this usually means is that I am neck-deep in client work. Period.

Back soon peeps :)
